A VEED alternative for clips from your recordings
Find a useful passage, correct the captions, and finish the frame. Upload an interview or lesson to Clyps, edit the selected clips, and download MP4s.
Decide which part of the job you want to change
VEED Clips supports highlights, captions, auto-framing, trimming, and further editor changes. Its Help Center currently describes a one-time Free trial and requires between one minute and three hours of speech. YouTube link import is not available in that Clips workflow.
Try Clyps when you want to evaluate a focused clipping workflow with your existing video files. Keep a broader editor for projects that need several source videos, a complex timeline, or other production work outside making excerpts.
Public product information checked September 9, 2026. This comparison is published by Clyps. It does not claim a new hands-on competitor test or a measured difference in clip quality.
Compare the workflow
| Decision | Clyps | VEED |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | Monthly Free source, finished-minute, and export allowances | Help describes a one-time Clips use on Free |
| Input | Upload a spoken video file | Clips requires an upload, with speech-duration limits |
| Editing | Adjust the range, framing, and captions | Trim a generated clip or open it in the editor |
Compare the correction, not just the first suggestion
Choose an interview where the guest answers a practical question. Open the proposed range and listen before its start. If the answer begins with "Yes, but," include the question and keep the qualification after the yes. Then check the ending for a sentence cut halfway through its explanation.
Correct a product name, move the captions away from a screen detail, and adjust the frame. A useful trial shows whether you can make these changes and download the result. It does not require you to accept whichever moment has the highest score.
Bring the video, keep the original project
Clyps changes caption text without replacing the spoken audio. It does not import a VEED editing project or retain its layers. Export a finished video first, then upload it. Keep recordings around 40 minutes or shorter for reliable transcription and within your source allowance.
Use the source file without already-burned-in captions when you want to apply a fresh caption style. If the words are part of the picture, changing the transcript cannot remove them. Keep the original recording or editing project for changes that need the full episode.
Test a finished clip on Free
Clyps Free includes 30 source minutes, 10 finished minutes, and three exports per month. Free exports carry a Clyps watermark and free media expires after seven days. A 20-minute source and three one-minute clips fit those limits before other monthly usage.
Creator is $19 monthly for 300 source minutes, 120 finished minutes, and 60 exports. Paid plans remove the watermark. Estimate the length of your recordings and the output you expect, then compare all three allowances. Check the current Clyps plans before paying.
What to check in the downloaded clip
- The question and qualification remain together.
- Caption corrections match the original audio.
- The crop stays useful when the guest moves.
- The selected plan covers another recording next month.
Switching questions
- Does Clyps remove speech when I delete a caption word?
- No. Hiding or correcting caption text does not remove the spoken audio. Review the clip boundaries when deciding which part of the recording to include.
- Can I change the moments Clyps chooses?
- Yes. Open the suggestion and adjust its start and end, framing, and captions before exporting. A score helps organize review; it does not predict views.
- Does Clyps publish to my social accounts?
- Clyps exports an MP4 for you to upload. It does not currently schedule or directly publish to external social platforms.
- Can I try this before choosing a paid plan?
- Yes. Use Free with a short recording. Finish and download a clip so you can check the output as well as the editor. Free exports are watermarked.
