Keep the final say

Captions follow word timing when available, or spoken phrases otherwise. Every suggested clip stays editable.
Shorten the idea without cutting its explanation
A shorter file is not automatically a useful short. Start with a single audience question, then choose an answer that contains its own evidence or example. Keep enough of the opening to name the subject. End after the answer resolves.
For a tutorial, keep the action and its result together. A tight crop on the presenter may hide the button being discussed. Use a wider frame when the demonstration needs it, or choose a spoken passage that works without the screen.
Work out how many clips your plan covers
One 20-minute recording and three 45-second clips use 20 source minutes, 2.25 finished minutes, and three exports. That fits the current Free allowance before other usage. Extra exports also need room in your monthly allowance.

Prepare the file for its destination
Use the YouTube Shorts maker guide for a vertical channel upload, or the YouTube-to-Instagram and YouTube-to-TikTok guides for those destinations. Clyps downloads the finished MP4. You still choose its title, post text, and upload settings in the destination platform.
Optional Pexels B-roll can support a spoken explanation. Keep the original speech and review the cutaway timing before exporting. A relevant visual helps; an unrelated stock scene can distract from the answer.

- MP4, MOV, M4V, or WebM files up to 20 GB. Keep recordings around 40 minutes or shorter. Completed parts are retained while the upload page stays open.
- Can I adjust the suggested clips?
- Yes. Change the start and end, framing, and caption style. With word timing, you can also correct or hide individual caption words.
- What can I export?
- MP4 in 720p, 1080p, or 4K. Choose 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, or 4:5 for each clip. Exports continue after you leave the page.
