How was this comparison assembled?
From first-party pages and real product journeys on a single day, 26 August 2026, with every claim labeled by the furthest stage actually reached. A price read from a vendor pricing page is recorded as a public claim. A free export is recorded as verified only when a real file went in and a real file came out.
The test media was the same in every case: a public-domain USGS interview recording of 2 minutes 39 seconds, 7.87 MB. Using one ordinary spoken-word file across every product is what makes the journeys comparable, and it is also why no claim here is made about highlight quality. Judging which moments a model picks needs an evaluation set, not one interview.
Where a vendor contradicted itself, both readings are kept. That happened more than once. The Klap pricing page returned clip-count quotas in its server-rendered response and uploaded-minute quotas in its hydrated browser view. The 2short.ai page stated a 30 minute free analysis allowance in its pricing block and 15 minutes in a call to action lower down. Spikes Studio showed its Basic plan at $0 on the plan card and at $12.99 per month in a comparison section further down. Resolving those by picking the friendlier number would make this page tidier and less true.

Two rows deserve a second look. The Klap free claim and the Klap free behavior are different things, which is why the cell records both.
