Choose between a Reel and a feed excerpt
The placement changes the composition. Use a vertical frame for an immersive Reel, or choose a square or tall feed shape when that better fits your material. Decide before finishing captions so you can judge the text against the actual frame.
Preserve the visual point
A wide demonstration can lose its meaning if the crop keeps the presenter but removes the object. Preview the source at the intended ratio and adjust the framing. If the explanation depends on a full screen of small text, choose a different passage or keep a wider composition instead of forcing the crop.
Finish the post in Instagram
Export the video and inspect it in Instagram’s upload preview. Choose a cover and description that name the specific idea. If the clip refers to the full episode, add that context through your usual profile and publishing process. Clyps supplies the edited video file for that step.
Worked example: a product explanation becomes a Reel
Suppose a YouTube walkthrough includes an answer about organizing a project. Start the Instagram version where the presenter names that task. Keep the action and its visible result. A vertical crop might work for the presenter’s explanation but make a full application window too small, so inspect both parts before choosing the final composition. Place captions where they leave the relevant controls readable. After export, choose a cover that names the organizational task and a description that connects the clip to the fuller walkthrough. When a different excerpt is the better answer
Some tutorials are composed around a wide screen with several panels. If none of those panels can be cropped away, forcing the recording into a tall frame can defeat the purpose. Use a wider feed format or choose a spoken explanation that stands on its own. The best repurposing decision can be a change of passage rather than a more aggressive crop.
